01/01/04 The latest on the Hewg front, (besides the terrific new website) is the impending release of Tour of Dootie. Because of the untimely death of Tommy and Sarah's cat, Dootie, and the raging war in Iraq, (the war was actually raging when we started in the studio,) I thought the name was both dumb and insensitive, thus making it perfect. Tour of Dootie t-shirts are available by emailing me your size or by playing on the incredibly great Hewg Soccer team. Yes, we really have a female soccer team. Photos available soon. We will be posting the new cuts from the CD on the site as they are mixed and mastered. The whole CD, in a jewel case with art work, will be done by Friday, March 26th, 2004. Mark that date and come to the Kraftbrau in Kalamazoo for the Hewg, Tour of Dootie, CD release party. It is also the Kalamazoo Compilation CD release party so there will be multiple bands playing and multiple reasons for you to come out and enjoy some of Kalamazoo's finest groups. The Landlords will be playing that night as well, not to be missed. Tour of Dootie has some remakes of old favorites as well as new material. Many of the musicians from previous Hewg albums lend their talent again along with some wonderful old friends. As you download the new material, shoot me an email and let me know your thoughts.
